Hello everyone,
I am new here. Quick question for the gurus here.
one of the search filters for BlueNile is 'Cut'. However I dont find the same search filter on other online vendors or even in the GIA cert.
So how do I compare for this filter?

For example. I am on Union Diamond website and they dont mention cut at all.

please guide me.

Blue Nile does not explain in detail what they mean by each grade of "cut quality". I would imagine any seller knows and could tell you about it, since cut is one of the price factors - definitely worth knowing!

You may find the tutorial here helpful - and more detailed than most sellers explain on their sites. PriceScope is not a diamond shop, ob=viously. And the tutorial is broad enough to let you interpretmost cut quality grades given by shops.

You have to be a bit careful here...cut grades like Ideal, Excellent, Very Good, etc., can have different definitions on different sites and by different dealers...the only standardized cut grade you will find on a grading certificate is by AGS, and these standards are often implied when not explicitly stated in writings and in talking with dealers...BUT make sure you are on the same page with anyone and know what system you are talking about.

The term "Ideal" is widely abused, but if you go by the AGS system, at least you can define your terms.

Gary
