Any assistance on buying a Marquis diamond

LuvDiamonds Rough Rock Total Posts: 6 Last Post: 5/28/2004 Member Since: 5/27/2004	I'm buying a loose Marquise diamond real soon (GIA certified, around 1.5 carat, no lower than G, no lower than SI1). What are your thoughts/advice on general specs to looks for or avoid in a Marquise? I know there are general guidelines under the "tutorial" sections, but any personal thoughts/opinions/tricks that might help me as a novice? Did I ask a "bad" question or not ask "correctly" because no one is answering. LuvDiamonds

You'll find your best guidance under the marquise parameters chart published by Accredited Gem Appraisers. It shows the technical make parameters on Class 1 thru Class 4 make stones. It's a good guide for ruling out poor performers (Class 4?), and going for the gold (Class 3A and better).
