I like the second one as well...but if I go with the one from WhiteFlash, its not as big, but I can then get the Platinum setting that I want....oh decisions..but I like these 3 more than others i have found. Thanks for the input.

screw the platinum! A white gold setting is 200 bucks. The setting can ALWAYS be upgraded. The diamond can't! OK- I'll be good, that's it for me!

I like #2 and #3. Because you really can't tell how a princess cut diamond will perform until you see it, I say both are possibilities. BTW moremoremore, I know you determine the spread of a princess by multiplying LxW, but how do you know if the spread is too large for the stone? What's the formula? How does the depth come into play (I always figured that too small of a depth suggested a small crown)?

There's one thing that would make me hesitate with these, but I seem to be in the minority. When looking at stones, I could easily tell the difference between stones that were "good" in symmetry and those that were "very good" or "excellent". Most people will tell you that "good" and up are just fine, but for me I didn't like how some diamonds didn't evenly reflect back light (I can pick out the good vs. VG/EX without being told). However, because all the stones you're looking at are "good" it really doesn't matter, huh? Sorry for the rambling!

I like number 2 as well. I wish the girdle wasn't thick on it. But number two should be nice. I bought: $2788 0.75 D VS1 68.4% DEPTH 64% TABLE thin to medium very good/very good 5.17x5.16x3.53 I bought it in the 14k white gold tiffany setting for $150. The diamond is incredible. You're likely to be happy with your Whiteflash purchase.

AHHHHHH So, I am thinking its either #2 or #3....not much of a difference between them, other than F vs. G color, and that #3 has a better Girdle measurement..correct?

don't worry about girdle unless its X thin or V thin or very thick. It's a non-issue. They both look really good. #2 might have a steeper crown...but you never know...so it's a toss up. Flip a quarter?

#2 came up with a 1B rating on gemappraisals, and #3 came up with a 1A, even though its a G color.. Where is that damn quarter?

Then, I'd let Jim flip the quarter for you... Or for the mere cost of return shipping have him send both to an appraiser near you and only pay for the one you like better.

have mercy gos...you are one busy person!!! i see the diamond addiction has hit you nice and hard haha. well let me see, i think i like diamond 3, i know that MORE said the spread may be a little bigger due to the crown or something, however, i think that larger spread will make that rock appear bigger. of course ya know diamond 2 looks splendid as well so i would toss my quarter in so you can toss it up....i'm sure DCD will give you their expert opinions on the diamonds and you can go from there if you allready haven't called them. the other thing is that rock 3 is cheaper than 2 and you wanted to save some money for the setting....don't you just love these options!!!! ok well i really have to get back to the game now.... ![]() Jason if you break your bones come to me I will fix you right up! |
