Hey all,

I've been a long time lurker and decided to take the plunge today to sign up! This group has helped me tremendously and I now feel confident enough to know what to look for (crossing my fingers!).

Any takes on this rock would help out greatly:

GIA cert.
1.04
H
SI1
Depth: 72.7
Table: 65
5.57*5.56*4.04
Polish: Ex
Symmetry: V
Price: 3386

Thanks,
EP

Hm... reasonable price (relative to whatever PS quotes) and promissing numbers ! Is there any way you could get an ideal Scope picture (or any other account of light return) on this one?

Thanks for the quick response valeria101!

Actually, I re-read my post and I don't think it came out as I wanted it to. Sorry. I actually have the diamond, but wanted a second (or third) opinion on it. I probably should have asked this before purchasing, but it was a decision that I had to make quick. Martin Sheffield is a wonderful guy to work with and I trusted his recommendations, however just thought I would get other folks opinion on this rock (number wise). What is an idealscope image and should it have been provided with the diamond?

I'm in no way an expert, but it sounds to me like you've got yourself a good diamond for the price by the description/numbers you provided. However, if you've read all the other posts, you have probably discovered that it's hard to find a great diamond through numbers alone. That being said, numbers can definitely give you insight into the stones performance. What I would want to know about your diamond is the crown and pavilion depths, whether it is eye-clean and faces up white, and, as Ana stated, see a picture of an ideal scope image (not all vendors use these, but you can buy one online and compare what you see to the examples on sites like goodoldgold.com). All in all, it just comes down to whether you find the diamond beautiful
