If I have a 1.5 carat stone that rates a 0.5-0.8 HCA (Excellent X 4) that is VH/VH/VH on a Brilliancescope, but not all cuts are AGS 0 (one of the elements is a 1), and GIA VG/VG, what am I missing? What would a significant other feel is missing? Thanks.

Nothing is missing :) That's the point: you could find excellent diamonds outside AGS0 range (e.g. some could be AGS6) and save on AGS0 premium. We just recomend you to see and compare the diamonds because your own personal preference may be for a diamond with an HCA score of 1.5 more rather than one with a lower score of say 0.5. "Many diamonds with excellent scores may not be traditional 'ideal cuts' but we believe their value will rise once the GIA establishes its cut standard." Pricescope |
