I think I'm driving myself crazy After much thought, I have decided not to get an e-ring and propose. We will not be married for at least 2 more years, after all schooling is completed. She has said that she does not want to be engaged for more than one year. So, I'm going to give her a promise ring instead, which is acutally what she's been nagging me for for a long time now. I feel bad about not being able to get her the engagement ring that she wants right now. As a compromise, I am still going to get a small diamond for the center stone set in a simple 14k white gold ring. I found the stone,.44 J VS2 GIA 4.91x4.93x3.01 Depth 61 Table 57 Crown height 14.7 Crown angle 34.2 Pavil. angle 40.8 Symmetry Ex Polish VG Girdle 1.2-0.9 Flour Med Blue It scored a 1.1 on HCA. It was 680. It will be arriving Fri. morning. Next, I have to find jewler to set it. Will post pics when it comes in. uclaure |

Congratulations! This is a nice sized diamond for a promise ring and it'll make the perfect pendant later on when you two become engaged. Michelle

I think that is a lovely idea. When the time is right, the time is right. What will happen is that when it's time for you to buy the e-ring, one will bonk you on the head and you will be so glad you waiting for it! Congrats!

Aureliano, Congratz on your wonderful purchase! Where I come from, thats considered "big" and the usual size for an e-ring so don't let it get you down on the 'size'
