Emerald cut, F, VS1
Dimensions: 7.9 x 6.07 x 3.96 (ratio 1.3:1)
Weight: 1.66
Depth: 65.2%
Table: 67%
Girdle: medium
Culet: none
Finish: EX polish, VG symmetry
Fluorescence: none

I paid just under $12K and I'm not sure what the crown percentage is. Sure hope it's pretty -- I should get it on Friday! I wish I had found this site first...at least they have a generous return policy if I don't like it. Can anyone tell me if this is a good value, or did I pay too much?

Yay! Those numbers surely look good from this side of the screen

If there is much cheaper anywhere, it ain't here: you may want to run a serch and compare prices - there are about 100 listings for a stones more or less like yours (and since each piece can get a dozen listings, this serching exercise is better for pinning down prices than anyhting else). As far as I see, yours falls somewhere in the middle. However, VG symmetry is great news and not very often found. Also, you may discover that the least expensive stones have less demanded proportions (such as just non-square).

I hope it turns out nice, as far as the stats say, there is neither reason to suspect this is not desirable, not any guarantee for a stunner (given that those proportions fall short from guaranteeing brilliance). In this case , I would have done just like you: call the stone in, since it is quite promissing and a decent deal...

Oh, I got the Sarin report:

Total depth: 65.8%
Crown angle: 40.9
Crown height: 12.1%
Pavillion angle: 53.1%
Pavillion depth 51.5%
Table size 66.5%

As far as I can tell, this puts it in a 1B to 2A rating. Is that correct? Can't wait to see it!
