I don't know a lot about Ovals, but there is a cut grading chart on www.gemappraisers.com that is supposedly a good start. You need the length, width and total depth meas. in mm, along with the crown height which you didn't list in order to get an accurate evaluation of the stone's cut. But by looking at the depth alone, the stone would at best be a 3B cut, since the stone is on the very deep side. 3B is probably a slightly below average stone. The best cut is a 1A down to the worst cut 4B. I think it's a good idea to shoot for a 1A to 2B cut to narrow down your search, and then it's important to visually inspect a fancy cut stone, because it's a lot harder to predict their performance than round stones based just on numbers. An independent appraiser would be the best way to go once you've narrowed down your choices with the AGA Cut chart I mentioned above. Hope this helps. Good luck in your search.

Hi duffyone,

To add to Magnum’s post, if you do a search under price stats at the top of the forum page, you will see that 1.0-1.49 D VS1 ovals with a 3B cut are averaging $4620 per carat (if you click on the $4620 link on that page you will see a list of similar stones averaging that price) so your quote of $4341 is in the neighborhood of what other pricescope vendors are selling stones for with similar specs.

Hope this helps and please keep us posted.

Kindest regards always,
Linda
