By chance I found this forum and have found it wonderful. So many knowledgable people! I'm about to purchase a "round brilliant" 1 carat engagement ring (white gold band)....and I have only seen photographs, not the actual ring in person. I'm hoping to gather some opinions here before I purchase this item. I am very new to diamonds and do not want to make any mistake here. (1st mistake already is making a purchase before seeing it with my own eyes, i know i know!) I'll tell you what I know about it: SOL1.0RW-B SOL1.0RW-B-62 weighs approximately 2.8 grams. made of fine 14KT white Gold. total carat weight of all gemstonesis 1.0 cttw. round brilliant set: prong Diamond Clarity: I1-I2 Diamond Color: J-K Thanks so much ahead of time. Please feel free to email me any comments. ofendless@zoomtown.com Thanks! |

? I'm considering purchasing this ring and am looking for some insight on whether it's *beautiful* or not. Comments on the colour / clarity are appreciated. Thanks!

A JK/I1-I2 diamond is a highly imperfect diamond with a near colorless to faint yellow body color. That is, if you can rely on the grading. Usually when someone hedges their bets with that kind of split grading you can count on the stone being a K/I2 or worse. That's not even taking into account the quality of the cut. This diamond is most likely an unattractive stone. If you're considering it for an engagement ring, you'd be better of getting a nice quality smaller diamond for the money. The smaller stone would be a pretty diamond, while this one is likely an ugly duckling. Rich, Independent GG Appraiser |

Jack... I don't know what price this was offered at, but at a clarity rating of I1 to I2 it's not going to be stunning...unless of course the cut is excellent and all the inclusions are hidden under prongs, (which I really doubt.) I suggest you input the specs on the Pricescope finder and see the price for a comparable diamond...I'm sorry. win "... Hi, Do not buy that stone at any price ! Take some time here and get a little education on diamonds. I can hear that diamond barking thru my monitor. ![]() Brian Knox |

---------------- Actually, not even $150 - anything could be better spent. And the world is much bigger than PS: a better bargain would still carry some recognizable certificate of color and clarity (EGL ?). For what is said, this could well be below the requirement of jewelry use: plenty of otherwise 'industrial grade' stones get sold under labels like the one you posted. Not worth the shipping cost off Ebay ![]() Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen." [Souren Melikian] |
