At long last, the ring was set right, the timing was right, and everything fell into place -- she said 'yup' and now I'm engaged! It's an H&A 1.69ct E VS2, set in a thin Michael B platinum pave setting. I'm quite happy with how it turned out -- and much more importantly, the gf was happy with it! Thanks to all of you for your advice, both direct and indirect, and for giving me so much eye candy and ideas to gaze at over the past few months. Hopefully these pics will work so that I can reciprocate:

Well, I was going to go to bed but I'm glad I checked "show me the ring" first. Geez, that's a real beauty. Nice choice. Is that a Regent or RB? That is so sparkly my eyes won't be able to adjust to the darkness in my bedroom!!

Wow, what a beauty!!! I love the setting, and would love to see a profile shot of the ring off of her hand, if you have one.

It looks lovely on her -- it's the perfect size for her hand.

Best wishes to you!

Lovely! The MB setting is what inspired my own custom e-ring setting and I have always loved it. This is the first time we have seen it posted here on Pricescope and it looks very lovely! I tried it with a 1c rb in the store and that thin band definitely showcases the stone, the 1.69c is a monster with that 2mm width! Congrats and best of luck!

Beautiful ring! I love the very thin band on it, and I'm not normally that into thin bands! Georgeous stone also. Congratulations on your engagement.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!

sevens one, it's a RB, although the setting and prong orientation give it a squarish appearance, which I like.

alexah, you're right, I paraphrased a little too much with the 'yup.' suffice to say it was a resounding 'yes.'

robyn12, i'll try to do some off-the-hand shots at some point.

wallace, thanks -- i saw this picture somewhere and thought it was odd and funny enough that it would make a fine avatar.

and robin & todd, thanks for everything -- i neglected to mention that that the beautiful center stone is from NiceIce!

Love that setting. (not usually a fan of thin bands) Between this ring and Mara's, I'm finding a love for those thin bands I did not know I possessed. Congrats and best wishes. That diamond is gorgeous BTW.

How lovely. I sure wish I could pull off such a thin-band look - it sure makes the diamond look huge.

Love the ring! I really like the thinner band, are you going to get the matching pave' w-band that matches? I like Michael B's designs! Congratulations

That is the exact ring that I am looking for. Where can I find it. I found a similar looking one at adidiamonds.com. Also, what was the cost of the setting? I'm thinking of placing a .83 I SI1 "cut above" from WF in one of those settings
