Welcome to Tiffany Friday sponsored by Daboyzdaddy! HEHEHE..held this thread just in honor of our special day....enjoy! ![]() Daboyzdaddy has been on one too many business trips in the last 5 weeks which culminated in this weeks trip to New York. This was his first time in NY and he was like a kid in a candy store. He had a blast to say the least. On his 2nd day there he called to check in and asked the usual question "What do you want me to bring home for you?" Well, you would think after 10 yrs of hearing JEWELRY he would give up right? Nope, still asks, still gets the same response that is always ignored because "jewelry is ridiculous" in his non-jewelry-addicted mind. So I further his torture and go on to say, " Cartier or anything in a small blue box would be nice", knowing full well that neither of these will ever show up at my home because Mr. Nobuyjewelry wouldn't EVER think to step foot in either of these establishments for fear of losing his precious fortune. Well I must say, there has to be something fishy being pumped into the air in NY because Mr. Antijewelry opens his bag to reveal the Never-Before-Seen-In-This-House little blue bag! I almost fainted! I asked him if he bought it on EBAY........ then proceeded to open it up. Inside were the beautiful and most definately cherished earrings. He went on to further fluff his feathers by asking me which collection they are from etc. etc. He was beaming to tell me why he chose them. It was cute. Now, I know Tiff's is overpriced, we all know that. But this was HUGE. Mr. OhNoSheWantsJewelryAgain wouldn't ever think of buying me any jewelry without me there to pick it out number one, let alone stray solo onto 5th Ave. by himself into Tiffany. But he did and he is so very proud of himself for doing so. Maybe this is a new trend in his jewelry buying life, maybe more little baubles will follow. He did say he was eyeing the Mikimoto store across the street too . But I will truely cherish my loveys.

Lovely!!! I love Tiffany's jewelry...they do have some unique items that are not quite so overpriced, making it easier to swallow. I was going to fork over about $500 for Greg's wedding Elsa Peretti cufflinks and shirt studs but then we decided not to get each other gifts right now...maybe first anni we can do something special.
Yay for DBD! I can definitely see more gifties in the future, the reception that he got from presenting the box and the lavishment of extra love and affection on him afterwards does tend to stick in a guy's mind...hehe.

Well, that's a wonderful surprise to come home to ehe? I remember my little sister (honorary) had been passing Tiffany's and she was PLASTERED to the window. Sadly, she comes from a low income family, with just her mother working sporadically, and has three brothers and sisters. She said, "I wish one day I could just walk in there and buy myself something, becuase I know my mom will never have money." She was as smart as a whip and the most responsible teenager I ever knew (better than me... )So for her birthday, I bought her the Tiffany's eternity necklace for $80 back then. Oddly, it was the first time I bought anything from Tiffany's and I can't tell you HOW HAPPY this kid was! Seriously, he was bawling... (I hope you were just as happy...) Sometimes tiffany's can make people THAT happy, and it's so much more sentimental when it's your first. I still wear my first, and it's so cute!!! So, know that this will be your FIRST item from Tiffany's, but it may always be the special one. I am so glad something got into the boy and made him do something that sweet and thoughtful! YYYYYAAAAAYYYYYYY! Yay for you!!!
"Sometimes it's OK to throw rocks at girls...as long as they sparkle! |

I luv those earrings! ![]() My BF bought them for me a yr ago, almost to the date, as a birthday present (in yellow gold). They're so classy & elegant & suprisingly heavy for such little earrings! ENJOY THEM!

Congrats Daboysmom! What a guy! I'll bet there is more in your future . Funny timing -- Hubby and I received gifts this week from Tiffany's -- my first Tiffany's also. (Never lived near one before...) He got a neat golf key chain, and I got the sterling silver floating heart necklace. I feel as if I have to hang on to the boxes and bags just cuz they are " that blue"! .

Haaaa you guys all know I talk a good game about Tiffany and in fact I am not a fan of their e-rings...I tried one on recently and thought my stone looked better in terms of symmetry and overall sparkle, plus I didn't love how the famous Tiff setting looked all squished from the side view....but I digress!
I do love their jewelry and smaller pieces. I got my best friend a beautiful gold limoges china box with her initial on it for her bday from Tiff...I got my sister the typical teenager Tiff heart key ring a year ago...I have a few pieces from there as well from Greg, including their sweet little silver heart shaped velvet box for holding my diamonds and my most recent acquisition from my bridal shower from a gal friend...a beautiful butterfly limoges box for holding my *other* diamonds..hee hee. The blue box IS fun to have for the smaller things...and I have Tiffany bags all over the place!
Funny story...I carry items around IN Tiffany bags (e.g. lunch to work or something) and today I had our wedding rings and all the purchase paperwork etc in one to take to our appraiser so she could give us the info to insure them. She is looking at my e-ring...with the new big stone in it from WF and she goes..is this ring from Tiffany? I said NO...and was surprised she would even ask since I don't think it resembles any of their styles that closely. Then she said...So you just carry items around in their bags?
It was such a hilarious, frank question..and that is SO how this appraiser is. I had to laugh and said...yes I have tons of these things, they come in handy. But what a VALID question! I do this..and I have gal friends who do it too. It's fun to carry around the robins-egg blue bag with something as incogruous as LUNCH in it.
Or diamond rings. ![]() ________________________________ |

I work in Midtown Manhattan & i see people carrying *stuff* around in Tiffanys bags all the time! I often wonder what's really in there... lunch? ![]() I don't carry their bags around but i do use one of their blue pouches to carry my e-ring in (and the stone before it was set)... The appraiser laughed when he saw me take the loose stone out of the Tiffanys bag but, i assure you, no Tiff envy here! Luv those pics Daboyzmomi! What an adorable family you have!! Thanks for sharing!

---------------- I'm not sure if using a Tiffany bag as a lunch sack is bizarre or if it's resourceful! lol Good idea, though. . .I only have one bag from my only Tiffany purchase and have stashed it high up in my closet away from my kids. The day I bought my silver necklace also happened to be last mother's day and i remember many women in the mall looking over at my bag with either curiosity or jealousy , so I'm betting you draw lots of attention with your little blue bag! hehehe

LOL Mara! That's too funny! I might have to start using mine as a tote too . Freak out all the stuck up moms at private school hehehehehe. Thanks for the kudos on the kids. And yes Linda the amount of mischeif abound in this house is unbelievable. The stories and pictures I have are PRICELESS. As much of a handfull as they are, I am quite proud that they are here. I have awful pregnancies and all 3 were NICU babies (all 4lbs or under) so when they are tearing my house apart for the 100th time in a day, I try to keep that in mind,,lol.
