Need to choose between 2 diamonds - very simmilar, is there that much of a difference? Everything else being the same one is .95, H color VS2. The other is .96, I color VS1. ~$800 difference in price? Should I go for the smaller one?

There IS no smaller one among these (leaving aside the fat tha diameter gives size, not the weight). The one point there is just a sign on paper - not relevant. I hope that when you say "all things equal" you mean "equally well cut". With the weight and grades this close chances are you will find two diamonds with these specs for the same price ![]() Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen." can you post more information on the cuts, like the diameter, the corwn and pavillion angles or percents, their depth %s and table %s? Between two stones of one color grade it will be minimal, BUT the cut may make them look identical, if the I is cut better! "Sometimes it's OK to throw rocks at girls...as long as they sparkle! |

Agreed...all things are rarely equal in cut specs. But, if they are in this case, I would take either the H/VS2 (assuming it is the cheaper of the two). I like higher color and lower clarity rather than the opposite. OR, I would take the one with the larger diameter if there is a significant difference. .01ct in weight is meaningless. What matters are the cut specs for performance and the diameter for size. Post more info, and we'd love to give more opinions .
