Hi everyone! Question: my ring was set in Platinum and the band yellow gold. I just had the band changed from yellow gold to Platinum. You can see a small slice on both sides of the ring from the setting and band, where the yellow gold was cut. Is this a bad job or normal?

See, my ring is a center stone with a baguette on each side. The gold was cut at the end of the baguettes and replaced with platinum. Why would they need to redo the whole head?
