Hi everyone, I'm about to propose in Tucson and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about where or how to do it. I know this is a generic question, but I have never been to Tucson before, and have no idea what its like. I know what I'm going to say, and I want it to be a private setting, so if anyone knows of any secluded, or private, beautiful spots, I would certianly appreciate the tip. We are staying at the the Westin La Paloma Resort - http://westinlapalomaresort.com/ if that helps. thnaks in advance, you all are the best!! |

Tucson has some great spots and you are staying right in one of them. If you want a truly intimate setting, travel over to Hacienda Del Sol south of of Skyline drive, just a bit East of Campbell. It is not a long way from where you are staying. It is just about across the street, but well hidden, compared to LaPaloma. They have a very beautiful and private garden area and pool area. They have a small and lovely bar and restaurant. It is not noisy like some of the "hot spots' in town. If you are more laid back, you might want to propose on Gates Pass, West on Speedway all the way out of town on the way over to Old Tucson and The Desert Museum. Figure on being there at just before sunset when the sky glows red and the vista is about 60+ miles. There is a visitor rest spot at the top of the pass. Don't plan on being alone there as many visitors go to see the view. You can climb up a bit to get away from some of the people, so wear your sneakers. There are other choices, of course. Ventana Canyon Resort would be another great spot. The top of Kitt's Peak, at the national observatory would be another. Even up on Mount Lemon could be a good spot, but since last year's fire, it may be sort of toasted. ![]() Have a great one! David S. Atlas |
