Hi all, Well, I got my anniversary ring on Tuesday. It is awesome!! I posted last month on my Emerald Cut Internet Purchase and now it sits in a beautiful ring with 8 baguettes keeping it company. We have an Olympus D-340R. 1.3 megapixel. Is there anyway that I can take some photos and put them on Show Me the Ring with this equipment. Thanks

Try using a magnifying glass directly over the camera lense and get nice and close to the ring. Also, try to use a background that is evenly black, so it shows up better, or place your hand over something dark and flat. That way the autofocus (if you have any) doesn't go nuts trying to catch different levels of focus.
Also, check online or your camera's specs or within the camera's manual:
It says your focal range is from 4" to infinity, so I assume the best distance to start would be 4" from the ring and see how blurry it is and slowly pull back to get sharper. Use the magnifying glass to get the details as well...
This is also within the review:
Which means, find your macro button for sharper pictures for small items, like rings, flowere, etc...as such the macro button MAY have a flower picture on it. See if you can activate that! Good Luck!
Hurry!!! POST PICS!!! ![]() ![]() "Sometimes it's OK to throw rocks at girls...as long as they sparkle! |

Thanks Nicrez, Hubby just left to umpire a baseball game, so no pics tonight. We might be able to get it together enough to try it tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to get the manual. I think one of these buttons is the macro. Thanks so much for your help. Needless to say, I'm the non-techie member of this 25 yr. union. More tomorrow. jaye williams |

I cant get my digital camera to show the true beauty of the e-ring I purchased. It is really sparkly in realy life, but when I snap a pic it doesnt show it as much. How do you guys get such clear pics?

Hi, Well, we finally took some pictures today and some of them are passable. Now we can't figure out how to make them small enough (100kb) as they are at 300kb. My hubby says our computer is too ancient. Gee, I guess this says something about our priorities. Ancient digital camera and old, old computer. Wife has lovely new ring. My husband and I were laughing as I said the topic on my next post will read "25 yr. marriage ends do to inability to post photos of 25th anniversary ring!" LOL If anyone wants to see an emerald cut with baguettes, contemporary, wide setting and sort of masculinish, PM me and I can send you the attachment. If anyone can walk me through the downsizing to get these photos up, that's great, too. I still love looking at my ring.

Jaye Try doing a search on the net for something called Picsizer. It's a small downloadable program that allows you to make all the pics in a folder a uniform 400 pixels...(if that's the size you want). But be warned, all the pics you want smaller have to be in the same folder. win "... (Corporations) have all the benefits of voters, without the guidance of a conscience. ...
