Based on the numbers that is, I'm still waiting for more information on how the SI2 rating looks. I have very little knowledge of good angles for a Flanders... so your help would be much appreciated. Also, I haven't seen it yet, I'm curious if I should keep looking or if this has a chance to be good.

Sarin Data:
1.56 carat, G color, SI2 (I know, possibly dangerous)
6.68X6.70
Table: 61% 4.07mm
Depth: 70.1% 4.68mm
Pavil: 50.4% 3.37mm
Crown: 34.6% 1.11mm
Girdle Ht: 1.9% .13mm

A 34.6% crwon height is very high or incorrect. SOmething is not measured correctly or you have some of the numbers mixed up. I like the Flanders shape. Hope you find this a nice looking stone. The SI2 may suit you and the budget....Nothing wrong with SI2 in some cases.

HAHA, don't steal mine!!! I believe some vendors around here have their sources - problem is, they are very limited in what types they can find. I definitely am worried about the SI2 when I was looking more for a VS2.

Ok yeah, there are two numbers next to crown, the second I didn't put down which is 16.6% - does that make more sense? Thanks for your help!

I'm not gonna steal it! PS and it's members have been nothing if not respectful. But I would like to know if you are pleased with your purchase. So far, I've not known anyone who's bought a Flanders!

Please post the results of your purchase if you should go through with the Flanders (and PM me with the name of the vendor if you would).

Good luck!

PS: Don't forget pics, when you get it too!

I'm just giving you a hard time about "stealing it"... these babies are hard to find sometimes!

I do wish there were more out there for comparison shopping and to be able to find the ideal grades that I wanted.

I do have one more question on this sarin data - does the girdle appear too thin for a 4 prong setting? I checked out some of the fancy cut charts but I'm not sure if the thickness is as important for a modified square.

Have you seen the HOF Dream? I can't believe they're charging so much for it. But it is gorgeous. I hope the new modified square that Rhino is researching will challange it.

When oh when will it be announced?!

ohhhh indeed! Rhino dumped that 'surprise' thread on us and then split... Get back here with more info...LOL... I was thinking that I bet it has the shape of an interesting gem stone I saw on another board...maybe I'll go get the link.... And they don't call it the Dream for nothing. KEEP DREAMING. Can you imagine a 1.75 G vs2 for over 17 grand. Puleeze.

Dreams... exactly just that. How I wish I could find one for half off And yes, I'm also EXTREMELY curious about rhino's tempting new square!

The pricing is like a H&A ideal I believe, I'm not going to tell for now out of respect for the vendor - not that they have told me not to or anything. I'm trying to determine if I should go for the shipping fee and see it in person or not... The chances of a SI2 being up to my standards are probably around 10%, but it is MUCH cheaper than some similar diamonds with higher clarity.

I'm lucky, she only wants a solitaire from what I can figure!

ummmm, yeah you should see it in person! Unless your trusted vendor assures you how it looks from all sides! ESPECIALLY b/c it's an SI2.
