After much introspection - I have decided I want my engagement ring to be an Asscher / Sq. Emerald.

Now - I have been hunting for a picture of an Asscher engagement ring I have in mind.

My question to you experts - Does anyone know where there is a picture of an Asscher setting where the center stone is surrounded with tiny, pave diamonds.

Thanks in advance! I have been lurking here for quite a while... It's nice to find a place where there are other diamond-obsessed folks like myself.

Similar, yes! But with pave going around the stone.

Kinda like a halo

Yes, yes, yes!! That is it! That is exactly what I want.

And it even has the cut corners.

Thank you a ton!

Just remember an Asscher cut is an Asscher cut. A square emeral cut is a square emerald cut. They are not the same. Simular but different.

Ahh, yes. I know the difference between the Asscher / Square emerald - and you know what? I love them both... I wouldn't mind having either.

They are completely mesmerizing.

Question for niceice - is that a custom setting you made? (BTW - Great website. I love the information you have listed on each stone!)

We disagree that "an Asscher is an Asscher and a Square Emerald Cut is a Square Emerald Cut"... A square emerald cut does not exhibit concentric squares down the center of the table facet, but our Asscher cut diamonds do and the GIA still calls them a square emerald cut on their lab reports, but only because they're leary of stepping on any toes in terms of trademark and Royal Asscher's got them freaked... This is the same reason why you won't see the words "princess cut" on a lab report, you'll see "square modified brilliant" instead.

I was lucky enough to 'stumble' into a jeweler in my Los Angeles neighborhood who carries a ton of Daniel K.'s line.

They even had the same setting niceice posted above. (It had 2+ct Asscher set into it.) It was stunning, absolutely phenomenal. Everything I saw by Daniel was extremely elegant. I am not one to cling to any ring designers - but after seeing this and other examples of his work in person, I am completely hooked.

For anyone out there thinking that Daniel K. might be what they are looking for - let me assure you - everything that is made by him is absolutely stunning.

As per request, here are additional pictures of the ring, sorry for the delay we had problems with the digitital camera... Kept getting "the blue screen of death" when we tried to use it

Coarchitect, where did you find that lovely picture of the asscher with the double prongs? Do you know who's setting that is?

Thanks.

that picture i got from this site (see link below). The real deal i think is a 1920 cartier setting, but i would bet several designers have something close to it.
