If anyone has an opinion on Vatche settings, I'd like to hear them. Specifically the x-prong ones.

Thanks

I don't have one, but I'm pretty sure there are lots of beautiful Vatche rings in the Show-me-the-ring forum, and lots of happy customers -- run some searches to get a good feeling for what people have done and have to say about it!

I have the Vatche 3 stone basket setting in 18k white gold. Mine had to be "custom" made because the size of my stones didn't fit their standard 3 stone settings. I think the setting is beautiful. I also think it was probably way overpriced. I was happy, however, to hear that the appraiser was very complimentary about the setting and it's quality.

What I like about it is that from the top, all you see are the 3 stones...they really stand out, not the setting. From the side, the setting is the perfect height for me. Not too high but high enough that it looks "substantial" if that makes sense. It's very symmetrical and well made. I think that should be a given...All settings should be symmetrical and well made. But after reading here for a while now, I understand that setting stones and making settings is not as easy as I'd thought.

The appraiser also commented on how the inscription on the diamond was centered perfectly so that it's easy to read and the D.Vatche stamp is also centered perfectly on the bottom of the shank.

So...there you go. I don't know anything about the x-prong settings, though!

I recently purchased the Vatche X-Prong Channel (baguetts on the side) style ring with a 1.09 carat princess stone from Superbcert. It looks fabulous! I am more happy than I ever thought I would be with this ring. I will recommend Vatche and Superbcert for the rest of my life, my future bride will also!
