I was shopping for some rings today, and one of the retail stores told me that the price of diamonds will go up on monday.

Is this true? Do prices of diamond go up at certain times of the year or do they just gradually go up over time?

I wouldn't feel comfortable if I were looking to make a large ($-wise) purchase & a salesperson were saying *hurry up! buy now! prices are going up!* You shouldn't feel pushed.

But, to answer your question, you can check out this link:

I don't think the prices will increase on "Monday" tho.

Have you checked out any of the pricescope vendors/done a pricescope search for what you're looking for? I can almost assure you that they won't make you feel pressured.

Good luck!

The price increase thing is a catch 22 for a retailer because a client can take it the wrong way as being a pressure tactic. Therefore, I don't mention this possibility unless asked, but prices can/do increase without much notice...so you take your chances.

It is true that prices are/have increased for the 2nd time this year, but it is a variable if or when you see the increases at the retail level with different vendors.

R/T from Nice Ice posted this week to expect another 5% increase in diamonds. Evidently DeBeers has already informed, or will tell sightholders soon.

Why use a big word when a diminutive word would be succinct!
