I recently purchased this ring from goldspeed.com. When I called to talk to customer service they said that this ring is made by a wonderful designer that makes his rings for vogue magazine and nordstroms and more. However, he said he couldnt tell me the name of the designer because they get these rings at discounted prices and the designers name doesnt appear on the ring. By the way, the ring is GORGEOUS in person, i'm having the stone set in it at this very moment and i cant wait to see it! The challenge: who the heck made this ring? who does it look like?

I doubt the designer in question makes rings >for< Vogue magazine - perhaps they have appeared in another firms advertisement >in< Vogue. As for chains like Nordstroms, they usually carry a little bit of everything, and could probably not find out who the designers of most of thier products were even if the wanted to. Both of the above facts could easily be true, and neither Vogue, Nordstroms, or anyone else could know exactly who this guy is.... There are probably at least a hundred people who could honestly claim these two things about thier work, including myself, whom no one would recognize by name or even easily find out exists. Unless the "name" is specifically that of the designer himself, which isn't likely (especially if it is from a "name" designer firm), you are probably never going to find out exactly who it is. The other question is, if it is a cool design, why does it matter who designed it anyway?

As far as I know thaty would be pretty much impossible to tell for sure. There are a lot of knockoffs and copies available and one can have pretty much anything copied and mass produced these days. Even if someone figures out who designed that pattern it does not mean that person produced it or had anything to do with it. ........... Oh it doesn't matter if I ever find out. And I had it ordered long before I even wondered about who made it. I was just curious to see if anybody had any ideas. It's a beautiful ring.

I notice that it appears to have a hallmark. Can you describe it? This might help us at least track down the facility which cast it, if not the design firm itself.
