Have you considered the investment of your own IdealScope? They sell here on PS for under $30... I LOOOOOOVE mine!
Also, I use the cupped lense part (without the pink cup inside) to take better close up pictures of my gems, but inverting it, open side out, and placing the magnifying end right up to my camera lense...WORKS WONDERS!!!
