Hi all, I came across this ring on the goantiques.com website (Linda Roberts Jewelry). Here is the description: This Vintage Engagement Ring is 18k Yellow Gold and it features the CASTELLANI DIAMOND! This is an 'Emerald Step Cut' Diamond = 1.05 CARATS! The Diamond has an EGL CERTIFICATE that certifies it as FINE 'G' Color and FINE 'VVS1' Quality. It is Laser Inscribed with the 'double c's' which is the Hallmark of Castellani. What I'm wondering is: What is a Castellani diamond? According to this jeweler, they are very few in number and quite rare. I'm also wondering what the difference is between an antique emerald cut and a modern emerald cut. Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!
