Hmmm...Mahenge spinel maybe? It has that glowing pink look...

Otherwise, maybe pink sapphire? Pink tourmaline?

I think that is her first engagment ring from the late DJ AM.  It was a pink/purpley sapphire.

It is too die for. I would like to create a ring with this one as an inspiration.

Soooooo pretty.

Nice stone! I would hazard a guess as either a Mahenge or a sapphire.

I do wish she would size the ring down so that it would stay put in one place.

With their budget, probably a sapphire.  However, it could also be a spinel or tourmaline.

Interesting choice of cut for a sapphire.

I like the color, but that cut really rubs me the wrong way.

It’s hard to tell but is it a checkerboard?

It's a pink sapphire made for her by Judith Ripka.

Agreed about the cut.

As a sidenote, have there ever been rose cut sapphires?

See, you and me have a better time than most can dream,
Have it better than the best, and so can pull on through.
Whatever tears at us, whatever holds us down,
And if nothing can be done,
We'll make the best of what's around.

Anything is always possible.  However, I would think a rose cut sapphire will be of pale colour since there are few facets to allow the light to bounce around.
