I'll try to make this short.  My husband is planning on getting me a new diamond ring.  I have a couple that we inherited but the long story short is that he wants to do a better one.

I have very short fingers and a small ring size so I run into a lot of issues finding settings that aren't too chunky.  I have an anniversary band that my husband gave me.  It is 12 stones that are each just about 2 points channel set into 14K WG.

My issue is that I only have about 10mm of space to use on my finger before you hit the knuckle.  I have a lot of webbing between finger that makes my fingers look short from the back and longer from the front.  Here are some links to what I wear now (a citrine ring wiht channel set diamonds, the band alone and then my OMC diamond that has the setting of about 7x7mm and is very uncomfortable to wear)

I cannot wear platinum as it is too heavy on my finger due to an accident that crushed my ring and pinky finger on that hand.  So I am looking for WG or palladium.  I like halo settings but not sure if I can find anything that will work.  The diamond in the center will be a low color princess diamond around .5-.75 total.  I won't be picking it myself but I have ones that I have found that I like.

My husband will be picking everything in the end without me saying what to get.  I have seen some rings I like but I would like ideas as to brands to look at and seek out so I can see how it does sit and feel on my hand (a *major* issue is the feel)

So you guys are the best.  I need your suggestions and ideas!  My only dislike are very high set stones (usually making my hand hurt) and thick bezel settings that are not textured in some way.  And my jeweler I like to use a lot suggested changing the edging on my anniversary band to milligrain to match if that is what I find.  We tried some rings but with a toddler I never get to look for long and I would like to go in prepared with pictures and styles to show them.

I tried to link to pictures but can't seem to get it to work for some reason.

I did look through the first 20 pages or so, but nothing really stood out there.  There were a ton of chunkier round settings though.

I didn't know if anyone had newer pictures or ideas that might be out there.  I kept running into issues with massive settings or ones that didn't work wiht my ring at all.  I know I am picking a smaller stone than average, but I was hoping someone had a good place to look at that I haven't been able to google.  Name brands are nice but so far they have been way too big for my finger.

James Allen has a lot of settings that are thinner and really pretty-have you tried there?

I have looked at James Allen but didn't see anything really good.  I am honestly getting ready to scrap this whole project.  As much as I dream of a pretty tinted yellow diamond ring, I just don't see anything good for truly small fingers.

Thank you so much for those links tyty333!  I admit I am probably in need of stepping back for a short while.  I am probably on picture overload with everything.

I really liked the Tacori setting with the princess halo!  I know someone had suggested to me ages ago to look at Tacori but I don't remember seeing these.

I think you gave me a little hope that if I step back I might find my dream ring.

If anyone knows of any other good makers to check out let me know.

I STRONGLY advise that you find a retailer in your area that carries a variety of settings (Tacori is a great choice) and try on the settings.  Online pics (although pretty to look at) are sometimes deceiving.  I am petite (5'2" 100lbs) with a 4.5 ring size (just measured ring finger and it is 3" long).  Many settings that I tried on seemed to be too overwhelming for my small finger size and body (i know it sounds weird to factor in body size). Tacori’s settings are REALLY delicate IRL and would be a great match for you.

I am still in the process of deciding on a setting but I have pretty much narrowed the selection down to a Tacori (2620) and a Sheldon Speyer (912).  Both have VERY delicate shanks but intricate designs.
