I need some help! Do any PS members out there have burnish/flush set stones in their wedding bands? I'm looking for different designs for a single stone burnish/flush set stone. While I do like the nice clean look look of a plain band with just a single stone (as seen here: http://www.ringdesigner.com/bands/add-diamonds/add-diamonds-2-cfbands.html with one or more stone variations), I was hoping to find other variations of the ring with maybe a design that incorporates the single stone into the band with a design that goes around at least the top half of the band (i.e. engraving, carving, etc). Any ideas, pics, links appreciated! kroshka |

He he! Right on target I really like those designs too. There are a few band makers that could serve as inspiration. Here is a quick list of I can remember right now: Christian Bauer (by default), Johann Kaiser, Michael Weggenmann, George Sawyer, Rudolf Erdel, James Binnion, Steve Midgett, Etienne Peret... And surely there are other too ![]() Small colored diamonds in a band anyone ? Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen." [Souren Melikian] |

The basic answer is: the sky is the limit. Celtic knotwork, flowers and vines, cherubs, family crests, astrological symbols, hideous rotting zombies with chainsaws - if you can xerox it, scan it, clip it off the web, or draw it in Corel or on a napkin, applying the pattern to a band in any form of relief is very simple and straightforward. What would you LIKE to see on a band? Also, what ring width, ring profile, and stone size are you looking at?

Good list Ana! Not very many people know James Binnion or Steve Midgett. Thier work is exceptional. I would add one more to the list, and thats David Emslie. He also does Mokume Gane (he's ordered some custom billets from me) and I've seen him on Pricescope lately.

Thanks for all the suggestions Valeria & Griffin! I'll have to do searches and check out all of those designers. Valeria - I just love the fancy colors - so I just have to have them in my bands! I have seen a couple of such examples of plain burnish set pink diamonds in a band on jewelryexpert, but I haven't seen any in other colors/styles. Griffin - got any links to examples of those patterns on bands? It's hard for me to visualize.... I have seen some celtic ones, and ones with some writing/letters, but not ones with vines, or some kind of neat geometric pattern. Not only that, but I only have a single stone to incorporate and I'm not so sure that a pattern will look good with just one stone? As far as ring width, the stone I would be using is 2.6 mm so I'm not sure what the width of the band would be - maybe around 4mm if possible or 5-5.5 if needed? As far as profile, I prefer to have the stone burnish or flush with the metal, but if for some reason a very small raised bezel is better with a particular design, I would not mind that. kroshka

![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some of the rings I make. Almost anyting is possible actualy. In fact. if you can draw it on a napkin, or have a photo of any ring. Idea or concept. It can probably be made for you no problem. Top is some of my Mokume Gane Designs, bottom two are celtic bands with diamonds flush set in the knotwork, a neat effect. of course diamonds can be put into any ring, and its possible to make rings with different sized stones includeing large stones.

I've never purchased from this place, but I remember seeing those kinds of rings at www.metalsmiths.com.

Kroshka - I don't have any links for you, but I can render out some sample pics to show you the basic ideas of what's possible. Any particular theme you would like to see?
