Hello,

I am looking for a 4 prong, solitaire setting that holds the diamond up high enough so you can see the culet. I would also like the pavilion to be open or mostly open as well...I currently have a "Tiffany" style setting which I like, but don't love, and would love to reset it in something truly beautiful. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
JillR

sorry not sure if you like a tapered shoulder look or wider band but just thought I'd toss this out to you anyways.

here is a sholdt design very simple classic but with the a twist on the prongs I love the way it is oriented, I'm sure you can make this raise up just slighty if you want to see more culet.

The Vatche X-Prong achieves what you want. This is the best pic I have to try and show it, but it's not that great of a shot. I really lightened it up so you could hopefully see where the culet is in relatioon to the bottom of the ring. It's really is a beautiful profile, with a nice amount of space inbetween.

There is an amazing Verragio solitaire that gives a beautiful profile view of the diamond. Let me see if I can find a picture.

Here you go. It belongs to vespergirl.

LOVE the Scholdt!! You must like bold, though. Verragio has some delicate mountings that show the pavilion and culet.

True. Here's a daintier Sholdt. The pic shows it set very low, though I'm sure you could request Pearlman's to have it set higher. It's beautiful as well.

Hey there! Upgradable posted an angle pic of my Verragio solitaire (thanks!) I like it because you can see the whole diamond from the side.  I think they call it "Lumino" style setting, because light hits the diamond from every angle.  I am posting another pic of the profile view, and also here's a link to a website that sells the setting & it has some more views.

Vespergirl, I LOVE you solitaire!! I'm a sucker for a sexy side view, and yours has it! Complete perfection. Thanks for posting another side view. I hope you don't mind, but I'm saving these to my favorites folder for future reference.

Thanks upgradable, I just love your ring too!  The halo is so gorgeous and delicate.

Sometimes I think I take my solitaire for granted - all of my friends have sidestones or halos, so I feel like my ring looks too simple, maybe a little boring.  I think that maybe one day I would add some sidestones (half moons or tapered baguettes - I can never decide!) but for the next couple of years at least I think I'm going to keep this solitaire.  My DH really loves a solitaire look, but I may decide to add those sidestones for an anniversary down the road (if I can ever make up my mind)
