So, i must say, I am quite new to this complex jewerly stuff and terninology.. I found a wholesaler(Unique Diamonds of NY) who has a few settings i like.  First, are they a reputable and respected jeweler.  Second, who are some of their retailers on the net so I can see what i may or may not be interested in?

Thanks

Look up on the menu...go to Resources ->Diamond Vendors.  I would talk to Union Diamonds and see if they can get
you the setting first though.

~~~Thanks to PS, my wants far exceed my budget!~~~
Hi! I used to have one of their settings... it was the original setting my diamond was set it and it was a serious work horse. Took a licking and kept on ticking. They are well priced and just about any jeweler can get them in... certainly any PS vendor, but also many local vendors. The thing you want to watch for is the finish. They go to the jewelers unfinished and then the jeweler's bench is the one that needs to finish them. So you want to make sure that whoever you buy through you tell them to do the best job of finishing it that you can.
Mine was bought way before PS and it had finish issues. I didn't know back then what the issue was. But I took it in for a nice polish and re-dip (it was white gold) with a vendor recommened on here and when I got it back... it looked completely 'healed'... they had taken the time to make sure the ring's original finish issues were no longer a problem. It made a big difference.
If I were looking at a Unique settings item, I would contact a few vendors and ask for qoutes. If it's a setting that requires melee (tiny diamonds) then I would make sure that when I get a qoute the type of melee are stated in there. For example... what color and clarity are the melee going to be, and are they going to be 'standard' melee or special (like hearts and arrows melee offered by some vendors on here). I would also state what metal I wanted. Unique settings does 14K, 18K white and yellow gold and Platinum I believe. But may have expanded out to rose gold (14K or 18K) or Palladium. This will enable you to ensure that when you are evaluating qoutes you are comparing apples to apples and so forth.
As I mentioned earlier... I am pretty sure that almost all the PS vendors can get Unique settings in, so you really can just pick and chose whoever you want to get qoutes from.
