I'm going to the Telluride Blues and Brews festival mid September. Just wondering if there will be any fall color around that time or if I'll be too early.

bebe,

I think that may be a little early for the colors.  I think it's typically late Sept. through Oct.  Guess it kind of depends on the weather as well.  It's been cooler than normal this summer so maybe the Aspens will change a bit earlier this year.  My DH and I were out there early July and it definitely cooler and more rainy than usual.

I'm so jealous of you!  You're going to have so much fun.  I love the festivals they have.  We were out there during the wine festival and they also had the plein air artists in town.

I've lived in CO most of my life and I miss it right now. It might be too early for the fall colors, but either way, you won't be disappointed by the mountain views! Have fun!

I'm a Colorado girl, and I think you might see some color at higher elevations.  Where I grew up, the leaves were definitely changing around mid-September, but Telluride is over 1000 ft. lower in elevation, so you might not see as much color.  Keep in mind that "fall color" means that the aspens are turning yellow.  It is very different from what East Coasters picture fall color to be--when they first moved here, my parents recall feeling disappointed when the colors were not the vivid reds, oranges, yellows, and browns they were accustomed to seeing!
