Vacation spot mid-way of Sydney and New York

chiapet Ideal Rock Total Posts: 541 Last Post: 11/20/2009 Member Since: 2/3/2008	My friend lives in Sydney and I live in NY. We're trying to come up with a mid-way point for us to meet up for a mini-vacation. Since I'm geographically impaired, I'm having a hard time finding a nice (and not overly expensive) country or island that we can both fly to in 10-12 hours. We're hoping for a relaxing vacation, which means doing nothing but lay on the beach and do some watersports. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on where we can go? I've already looked at Fiji (too far for me), Maldives (super expensive), and South Africa. Any other countries I should look at? Thanks!

Seriously cheap FI and I stayed there for a week with full buffet breakfast each day in bangkok and it was under $400 AUD for the week for the both of us :) __________________________________________________________ Sometimes if your really lucky all your dreams do come true ...............

I was going to suggest Bali, but it would be a long flight for you whereas your friend in Sydney would have a much shorter flight, though Bali is so beautiful!
