Hello everyone! I'm starting to look for rings for my girlfriend. She's given me plenty of suggestions on her ideal ring. She really wants a unique/antique ring. She does not care about having sidestones---she more just wants a solitaire diamond with a really classy setting. Here's one of the designs she showed me that she loves: Toulon from Knox Jewelers She doesn't want something too edgy or crazy...just something unique and fun. Now I would just get her the Toulon ring, but my budget is around $2500. $3000 at the most. As for the diamond, I want it to be at least .5 carat, preferably a bit bigger. I live in the Pittsburgh region and can travel as far as Washington, DC if there is a good jeweler there. Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can get a custom ring? Or a place that has similar rings that are affordable? I can provide more information if necessary. Thanks for your help, everyone. I love this site! Edit: I apologize for the misspelled title! |

I think you should find the stone and figure out what budget you have left for the setting first since settings can easily be the same cost as the stone. Do you know what cut, color, clarity you are interested in? If she likes antique rings, here is a beautiful ring with stone included in your price range: erica grace .97 old european cut And I know I drool over Bev K settings like this or this halo. Even better is this halo. If she wants unique, this is definitely a unique halo and a really nice art deco setting. Here's the least expensive Bev K settings that I found: http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/beverley-k-jewelry/rings/80PP1/91/ http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/beverley-k-jewelry/rings/79PP1/91/

I love that Erica Grace ring, and I'm kinda surprised it's still available... If you think your GF might like a true antique rather than a new ring that mimics an antique, you might also look at Lang's Antiques: http://www.langantiques.com/category/10/5/item/10-1-2420/ http://www.langantiques.com/category/10/5/item/10-1-2506/ http://www.langantiques.com/category/10/5/item/10-1-2516/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

I found these for your consideration. My brother is looking at artcarved and they are available in 14k, 18k, palladium, and platinum. We went through our jeweler who was able to get us an awesome deal if we buy the e-ring and w-band together. The cost is more if you buy them separately. Also you can purchase diamond separately from the set so you know you're not paying BM marked up price on your stone. Hope this helps! http://artcarvedbridal.com/productmatchselector.do?pid=979&cid=57 http://artcarvedbridal.com/productmatchselector.do?pid=1013&cid=57 http://artcarvedbridal.com/productmatchselector.do?pid=941&cid=57 http://artcarvedbridal.com/productmatchselector.do?pid=906&cid=57 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

I think if you had them add engraving to option 3 it would be almost the same ring as the one you showed above. Also, in palladium I think the setting is only 425. Then you could probably put a nice H-I SI1 0.85 diamond in it. Good luck!

Not really antique but it reminded me of the one you posted: http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Diamond-Settings/U-Prong--Champagne--Pave-Engagement-Ring-by-WF_740.htm# Antique/vintage looking http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/settings-with-sidestones/Antique-looking-Bezel-Pave.html http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/beverley-k-jewelry/rings/79PP1/91/ http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/beverley-k-jewelry/rings/89PP1/56/ http://since1910.com/engagement-rings/tacori/settings-with-sidestones/tacori-setting-w-marquise-side-diamonds-12ct-tw-t-ht2198-set-1212.aspx http://shop.goodoldgold.com/index.cfm/a/catalog.prodshow/vid/47089/catid/170 Breann |
