OK, so I've gone and ordered a diamond (1.04ct E VVS1 1.5 on the cut advisor) and now I need to find a setting. What's the best way to find a good metalsmith (I'm going to set it in platinum)? Any recommendations for the Seattle area? There are plenty of jewelry stores that have loose diamonds and settings, but I have to wonder how they would deal with me when I bring a diamond that was bought elsewhere... Thanks for any advice, Angra

Go into Facere, owned by Karen Lorene in downtown Seattle and see some real current, new designs by very talented local designers. Karen might suggest someone if it is not something she would tackle for you. Also, try www.tradeshop.com. I believe this Ray Elsey is in Oregon and does a pretty big I'net job on making mountings. ------------------ David S. Atlas |
