Are feathers same thing as fractures? I thought feathers are fractures, but learned that they are not and does not affect diamond's durability or breakage. Is this true?

I have never seen a diamond that broke because it had this or that type of inclusion. Most chipped stones have very thin girdles and often shallow crown angles.
