So my mom was wondering what the "average" down payment for an all-inclusive wedding venue would be? I wasn't sure what to tell her. Does anyone know? This would actually be helpful information for when I am looking at a payment schedule. Thanks!!

hey there... i'm pretty sure my venue is doing a 4 payment plan. So the deposit was 25%. Obviously we won't know the final amount until the final headcount so the last payment will depend on that i suppose. hope that helps!

It depends on the venue. I would say some require between 10 and 50% down.

Yup this varies a lot. One venue we were looking at asked for 25% of the estimated cost, other venues that are not all inclusive usually ask for 50%. Some ask for 100% if its only a couple thousand. If the venue rental is in the higher range, like $10k, they might just ask for 1/3. I know...my post was of no help, but i tried? *June 20th 2010* Woot! |

There was a $1000 downpayment due at booking. They held the date for us until someone else showed interest in that same date, and then we had 7 days to make a decision. On the 7th day we had to either give our deposit or give up the date. Payment schedule: -First half of estimated total quote (based on estimated amount of guests) is due at 6 month mark. -The Tuesday before the wedding, we meet with venue, give actual amount of guests, and then whatever is left of second half and any adjustments for the "actual quote" is due at that time. ___________________________ |

It definitely depends on the venue. FI and I's venue only requires a $500 deposit, then 50% of the remaining balance 1 month before the wedding and the other 50% the week before the wedding. Another venue we looked at had the same price per person as our venue, but wanted $2000 down. The places are about 5 miles away from each other. ______________________________ |
