So FI and I have a meeting tonight with our caterer so he can help us finalize our menu...He wants us to come with "feelings and emotions on how we envision our wedding food to correlate with the feelings and emotions of the wedding itself" ![]() All FI said was "well I want to food to taste good and not make people sick"....which I don't think I have anymore to add to that...chicken is chicken right? Help me...how did you decide on your menu? Did the food choices you made directly correlate with feeling of your wedding? For example: Did the type of chicken you chose to serve have any special meaning?? I know that sounds crazy but I don't really understand what my caterer wants from us...

I'm not sure. We tasted the food from the two caterer's and decided on the menu based on what we liked the best.

Maybe the caterer just wants to know what type of wedding you are having. Is it more formal vs. casual. Do you want more of a sit down dinner with fancy food or buffet (which can also be amazing food!). Do you want finger foods and cheese trays or salmon and filet mignon? Caterers just need some direction. I would just pick food that the two of you love :)

We love food, but it meant we had a hard time choosing the menu. We were torn between choosing more typical chicken, beef, salmon dishes, or going with what we really wanted to get (lamb, duck, and sea bass). In the end, we decided that it was our wedding and we wanted food that we thought was awesome, so we went with the lamb, duck, and sea bass and everyone else will just have to deal with it ![]() So I say pick the things you would most want to eat. I know that many brides say they don't get a chance to eat, but I think that's kind of silly ... I'm paying for it, so I will definitely be taking some time out to eat it! FI and I are even going to ask that they put a bit of each of the meats on our plates, so we can try it all
