hi everyone!

has anyone ever used their service? the wall street journal's online article looks promising BUT i would like to get responses from people who actually used the site.

i bought a wedding gown on a whim (i thought it was THE one... only to find out it was NOT THE one) so i'm *thinking* of posting it there.

for those who sold their gowns from that site, how long did it take you to sell the item? were there other site fees that they did not tell you about?

thanks in advance to those who are going to respond on this!

p.s. their site is: preownedweddingdresses

Many of us have. I sold two dresses there (one that wasn't the one AND the one that I wore). One took 4-5 months and the other one only took a week. It really depends on the style, your pictures, and whether you price it to sell or not. But it's a good website. No other fees from them but if someone pays via paypal you'll have to pay paypal fees too.

Hi Cleo,
I sold my Vera Wang wedding dress a couple months after my May 2007 wedding. It was listed for 3 weeks before I found a seller who was willing to pay the amount I was asking for which was roughly 60% of what I paid (including alterations and taxes). I got tons of responses regarding the dress, but many buyers were wanting to negotiate the price or even wanted to split payments. I was firm the price and knew that the buyer would be getting a deal on such a dress.
I think there are many factors which make the selling process go quicker.
1) amount of alterations
2) size
3) pictures
4) condition
Good luck!
