hey everyone,

friend of mine wants to go dress shopping in SF, but has a budget of 2K. what are the best spots to find dresses like this but looking similar to jim hjelm or christos dresses? or is it good to try on these dresses at the store and try to find discounted online?

where online to get discounted designer dresses, or what is the step by step strategy to find a more affordable dress (sample sizes, etc)?

I only visited one bridal salon, but it was actually in the East Bay. It was called Gesinee's Bridal in Concord. They have an entire room of dresses under $2000 (or was it $1000...?), so there was no chance of accidentally picking out, trying on, and falling in love with an out-of-budget dress. As for the actual purchase, I went through pearlsplace.com and saved quite a bit.

You guys have a Glamour Closet in San Francisco. It's a store that sells designer sample dresses (Amsale, Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier). I've been to the one in Los Angeles and they have a good selection. Here's the info for the SF location:

114 Columbus Avenue (cross street: Jackson)
San Francisco, CA 94133
Tel. (415) 391-1515

I just showed it to my friend, and she really can't wait for the shop in SF! Great, thanks!
