flourescence 'FAINT'? |

If GIA grade the flourescence as FAINT, does it mean that it's blue faint? or it may be some other colour than blue?![]()

90% would be blue, yellow is the next probable, orange, green and violet are mentioned as oddities. Just not to keep it short: "Faint" intensity means that... you will not see it unless using a UV light with all others blocked. The flourescence will not affect the appearence of the stone in any normal lighting, despite their spectrum. Stronger fluorescence may say it's word in sunlight or certain indoor lighting. My impression is that fluorescence tends to "show" more the more tinted the color grade is: for example, a Y-Z would literally change face from yellow to (hard to describe) if it has strong fluorescence.
