In January 2008 I dreamt with a friend who had passed away. He was with a women I didn't recognized. During the dream she says to me "you are pregnant with a boy and will give birth at the end October". When I woke I told my husband about the dream and we laughed (we had finished having children).

WELL...2 wks later I found out I was pregnant ( a total shock but a pleasant one). When I calculated the due date it was for October 27th. I was having one of those freaky moments. I told myself it would be freaky if we were having a boy like the lady in the dream said. We had a boy..

Anyone else have a dream come true?

I dont' think I've ever had a dream come true but I've experienced something similar many many times.

I'll dream about someone who has been somewhat absent from my life...exboyfriends, friends, etc...usually someone I was close to but have lost touch with... the next day I'll receive an email/ phone call/etc. It's happened so many times.... some of these people I haven't spoken to in a couple of years (and are not people I typically would dream about).

For example... last summer I had a dream about my best friend from grad school. We'd lost touch 2-3 years earlier (when I thought she'd moved back to her native country).... the next night I was sleeping and my phone rang.... it was her. She said I'd just been on her mind (she hadn't moved after all) and decided to see if my # still worked.

what a cool story!

I have very vivid dreams... that are very imaginative.  My DH loves it when I tell him the tales of my dreams, and we later look up the significance of those things in the dream diary book... but I can't think of any that came true... I mean just last night I dreamed I was on a bus w/ a group of 4-6 yr old children.. on a field trip, and it was snowing outside... and we were signing songs, the wheels on the bus, and christmas carols (the only things I know) and in my dream I started to change the words of the song "walking in a winter wonderland" to the bad version... that was innappropriate for children that age and in my dream I knew it was not the way the words go.. and I was like... uhh, what is the good version... it made me soo upset it actually woke me up!  I'm glad stuff like THAT doesn't happen in real life, I'd feel terrible!

I was just talking to my boyfriend about this the other day. He doesn't believe in precognitive dreams, but I do...it was weird to me that he just doesn't believe in it.
I've had dreams before where I'll be in an unfamiliar situation and then later, maybe 6 months or more I'll be in that place I was in my dream with the exact same thing happening for about 30 seconds.

This happens to me all the time, and just to spite my friend who swore that it was just my mind playing tricks on me, I wrote my dreams down for a long time just so I could go, "Look, this scenario RIGHT now, dreamt it six months ago, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it!" Sometimes it's little silly stuff that could realistically be a coincidence, but sometimes it's really weird stuff, and I get kind of freaked out by it. Also, sometimes, the dreams are fuzzy on certain things and make more sense in the moment where it's actually happening. This one time, for instance, I dreamed that we were driving home from playing pool at a local bar, and the whole night hanging out with my friends was in the dream, what everyone was wearing, the song my friend kept playing on the jukebox over and over, etc. As we were going down this one stretch of highway, there was a large rectangular black box standing upright in the ditch in the median. The box had bits of white around the edges and looked kind of weird, but in the dream, it was hazy as to what was up with this "box." Well, the next night, the whole thing at the pool hall happened exactly like the dream (wardrobe choices and all), and as it turned out, the "box" in the median was a car that had crashed, and the car somehow wound up nose down in the median, so it was just standing on its smashed front end where we could see the underneath of the car as we drove by and bits of white around the edges from the body of the white car.

Funny thing, though--my dreams, without fail, either come true or are so mind-boggling insane that I don't share them for fear that people with think I put LSD in my cereal in the morning! I have actually dreamed that I was a banana performing a strip show before!

This is kind of weird to "say" (type), but I dreamt about my DH before I met him.  At the time I had the dream I was dating someone else.  One night I had a very vivid snapshot dream (that's what I call those super short dreams that are brief scenes that look and feel very real and are completely independent of my regular dream).  In the snapshot dream, I was in a movie theater watching a dark movie with a handsome, dark haired man.  I looked at him and got butterflies.  When I woke up, I felt so guilty, as if I'd somehow cheated on my boyfriend.

A few months later, that boyfriend and I broke up.  I wound up dating my DH and, on one of our first dates, we went to see "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".  When the scene that was playing in the my dream flashed on the movie screen I did a mental freak-out, looked at DH, and realized I was living exactly what I saw in my dream.  That totally flipped me out.

I have dreams and thoughts come true but nothing that major. Most recently with a jacket. Not sure why but the image of a green gaberdine jacket from the 40s just popped into my head one day. I decided I had to have one and that I was going to keep an eye out on Ebay. Anyway later that day I went to my mothers house and she said she'd been cleaning her closet out and had some things she was giving away. In the pile of stuff she was getting rid of was a vintage ( from the 40s) green gaberdine jacket.

Once I dreamed that a girl in my class ( in high school) dyed her hair bright red and the next day she showed up with bright red hair. It was weird because she wasn't even a good friend of mine. But years later her little sister became one of my best friends.

I had a dream near the begining of my pregnancy that seemed so realistic, in the dream I went in to labor on my due date, had the baby after 2 hours, it weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and was a girl. I was so sure the dream would come true, but I ended up having a c-section after 12 hours of labor and had an 8 pound 14 ounce boy oh well, maybe next time...

I've had dreams where I can't really recall or remember the dream but when I"m out and about doing something or something happens, I feel like its a deja vu moment and I'm certain its from a dream I had.

I have crazy dreams involving talking tomatos and my failed attempts at flying, if any of them ever came true I'd probably be worried.

I did have a dream that turned into a "deja vu moment." Just about a conversation I had at work with someone. We were standing a specific way and just chatting about our weekend. Well that morning when i went to work it happened EXACTLY like my dream. No real big deal. But we were standing the same way she was wearing exactly what I dreamed (oh that sounds off doesn't it) and our conversation was almost verbatim.. it was weird, maybe not crazy uncommon, just weird.

These all sound like amazing dreams!

I have dreamt about both my ex-boyfriend and my current SO about a year before I met them, and I dreamt about totaling my family's car about 9 months before that happened (I wish that had stayed just a dream).

It seems to be linked to major life events.

My mom dreamt of me before I was born, so maybe it runs in the family?

Cheers,

HD

I have very vivid strange dreams, some with weird coincidences.  My grandfather had been very ill for a year, but assumed stable and moved to a nursing home.  Before he was moved to a nursing home that summer I visited him with my mother.  September, went back to college.  One night I had a very strange long dream with my grandfather in it, with strange metaphors where he accidently stabs himself with a needle in one of his legs, being on a roller coaster, being on a train that we couldn't get off.  It ends with a big wave washing him off the edge pulling him under the water.  It was a very affecting dream, and yes the following next day I get a phone call from my mother that my grandfather had died unexpectedly, of a wet gangrene infection.  She even confided that the last time he saw him he basically was having a hallucination or belief that he was on a train he couldn't get off, and kept saying I can't get off, I can't get off the train.

When I was in my 20's I had several dreams that were premonitions of things that happened shortly thereafter. It scared the **** out of me because I was worried I would dream something bad. I prayed they would stop and they went away.
