 Confused: Wil Shane Co. set outside stones or not?

 		I took my girlfriend to the Shane Co. in Indianapolis and she really enjoyed the stones we were shown. In the past month since, though, I have done a lot of research and have realized that I'd rather buy from an Internet store where I can actually see the diamond specifications. The major hold-back is that my girlfriend was really impressed with the liftime guarantee of Shane Co.

I searched the board for posts about Shane and some say that they will not set outside stones while other posts say that Shane will set outside stones at $1/pt. and include their "liftime warranty" should the stone fall out of the setting.

Who is right?

Good question. You might want just call them at 1-866-467-4263 and ask.

From Shane Co warranty page:

When you make a purchase from Shane Co., we will warranty the item against any type of manufacturer defect if you have it cleaned and inspected every six months by Shane Co.

This lifetime warranty covers the quality and workmanship of your purchase under normal wear and tear. For example, if you were to lose a stone due to a defect in the setting or because a worn prong was not identified through inspection and repaired, Shane Co. will replace the stone at our expense. This warranty does not cover repair or replacement due to accidental damage, loss or theft. Our lifetime satisfaction guarantee does not apply to any merchandise not purchased from Shane Co.
