Fi and I were talking today and he doesn't feel right having a big wedding now that my dad has passed away. I am totally okay with that as I wanted to elope from the beginning. Now that the decision to do it has been made the next question is where? We were thinking about going away in October of this year, ideally we'd like to stay within the United States. So if you eloped, where'd you do it and what was your experience like? Pictures? Thanks in advance.

There are some gorgeous places up in the White Mountains (NH). That would be a decent ways away, but you could drive there. Easily a weekend trip and fall is the best time of year to go because of the foliage.

That's Mrs. Hudson_Hawk to you... Over and out.

The outer banks of North Carolina... peaceful, beautiful, serene.  October is usually mild in NC.  You could get a fab beach house for a week, especially at good rates in the off season!  Careful as it is technically hurricane season.

Santa Barbara, CA is also fabulously beautiful, as is Malibu, CA!

What about the southwest?  Maybe one of these places!  They seem pricey, but MAN, are they GORGEOUS!!!

Kiawah Island?  $$$$
