Finally got the ring from the online vendor used by many Pricescopers. They include an insurance appraisel with the ring. My question is, do I need a 2nd independent appraisel? I guess it wouldn't hurt, right? Thanks!

I encourage my clients to obtain an independent verification just for their own peace of mind... There is a list of Appraisers available via the Resources / Appraisers link here on PS.

For me it depends on the cost of the stone. I have purchased 2 stones from online vendors and was fine accepting the GIA and AGS reports. For insurance purposes I used the invoices so I wouldn't be paying insurance rates on an inflated appraisal. But the safest thing to do, especially if your stone is expensive, is to get it appraised.
