I am looking at engagement rings for purchase in the next month or two. Originally started to look at Tacori, but then also started looking at Scott Kay.

Don't know that much about Scott Kay, and was wondering if this company is related to Kay Jewelers or Zales? Anyone know any more info about Scott Kay or the who it is affiliated with?

Many thanks!

Hi! I don't think Kay or Zales sell Scott Kay. If you go to their website, they should have a section for authorized retailers in your area. Hope this helps!

Scott Kay is a jewelry manufacturing company whose line is featured in different stores.  Zales and Kay Jewelers are jewelry stores.  I don't think there is any connection between them but you can go to www.scottkay.com and contact them directly with any questions.

Scott Kay is a higher end designer brand.  They don't carry rings like that at Zales or Kay's. Scott Kay is good quality and a nice choice!

~~~ When in doubt...don't.~~~
Ditto what has been said above, and I just wanted to add that I got my Scott Kay setting through Pearlman's and couldn't be happier with it. http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/
After looking at settings for over a year, I finally settled on a Scott Kay set.  I am very, very, satisfied with my decision, and I can honestly say that the quality is amazing.  After two years of 24/7 wear it still looks like new!
Oh gosh no no no.. not even close. Its a completely different animal altogether. Go to the Pearlman's site, you'll find the Scott Kay vendor there.
I believe they are unrelated. BF and i found a scott kay setting we fell in love with (pictured below) at Jared. However, we wanted it in rose gold.. but scott kay doesn't have rose gold for that setting. I think that the setting was $1,200 as shown. We had it custom made by Jared in rose gold for $600 ish. One of the jewelers told me that it should have been closer to $800 because rose gold costs more than white so we got a really good deal.
But we paid half what we would have for the "designer" ring.  it shows that you pay for the Scott Kay name (and the quality, I assume).
But the scott kay settings are beautiful! Go to the website. You can see them there.
Hmm. I thought that white gold cost more because the price of the rhodium plating? I wonder.
But more to the point, that trellis  X-prong style is one that is very popular and sold by Adwar, Unique Settings of NY... and I believe by Ingwar and possibly stuller as well. Which would be the least expensive way for a jeweler to get that style in for a customer. Adwar carries rose gold. So I'm thinking that it was custom ordered for you (and that it would look gorgeous in rose gold) from one of the 'unbranded' lines (which are really undisclosed lines) rather than custom made for you. Just an educated guess.
BTW I have a scott kay wedding band. With pave. I wear 24/7 and the thing has held up very very well. And I'm pretty hard on my hands. Their prices are high, but I would buy one of their pieces again happily.
I have a Scott Kay e-ring. I have loved it! If I had to do it over again, I might have done more price comparisons to see if I could get a ring made or find a ring a little less expensive. I am not sure if that would even have been possible.
My computer is acting up on me so I can't post a link to my ring. If interested, look in my past posts for "What should I do with y rock"
Idk. I read somewhere that rose gold was expensive b/c of the copper. maybe not. not sure
I'm new in the jewelery world (as if you can't tell) and I haven't hear of any of those vendors .
We just picked up our finished ring on the 12th and it looks amazing in the pink gold (if I do say so myself).  We're extremely happy with it!
But thanks for the info..
