This might sound funny! Yes, I am addicted to this forum. Although I am a newbie here by registering today, I have been browsing around for about 6 months, almost everyday. I learned this website from just googling and browsing becuase I want to learn more about diamonds and definitely, I want bargains for my engagement ring. I had experienced buying diamonds for OTHERS ( uncle, mom and sister) but never for me and never from internet. I am soooo regretful taking my uncle and sister to Robin's brothers but it did give me good experience that even in such a store you can still negotiate the price! amazing how much you can tuggle down the price from Robin's brother! Even then, they are totally not worth to pay so much for a lower quality diamond.

My uncle diamond for his wife was 2.5 ct and it was pretty shinny I/VS1 but I really don't know the sarin or other measurement. However, my little sister e ring was not even sparkle... so sad..

Well, let's cut to short... I am here to look for myself with challengin budget..so I am not at the point where I am ready to buy..... but today, my friend just called me and told me that he wants to propose his girlfriend by Valentine's Day ... He wants me to help him find nice one..... and of course, my another sister is getting engage this weekends and she hasn't bought the ring yet...(she is arriving from Paris today) so, I am here to search diamonds for them and I am having problem finding them.. I am not sure it is becuase the vendors don't put most of their selection online...especially, whiteflash.. I ended up having very few selection from them... Maybe I dont know how to do "search" ...should I just email them or keep searching until i saw the one..This is the one I saw and I thought it is the only one i thought "oh".....

http://www.superbcert.com/Shop_By_Product/Diamond_Details.cfm/P/612/N/1;1

He gave me the budget of 15,000.. with this I think he can get around 2ct.. What do you guys think?

The last but not least... LET ME SAY IT LOUD SO THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS... 'THIS IS THE BEST SITE EVER I RAN INTO AND I LOVE THE SITE' ..

I am so excited that i got to buy diamonds with others' money for others.. i think i am just addicted to shopping..

thanx

Hi moeaye and welcome.

First off, what are your friend's priorities? He gave you the budget of $15k and he wants a 2c. Are those his only requirements (besides the obvious..aka diamond must look good).

The more info you give the more people can try to assist.

The I VS SuperbCert will be beautiful in person. Do you know if your friend would rather have a better color and a slightly smaller stone, or is it as close as possible to 2c and not showing yellow?

Here is one in the price range:

2.06c G SI1 AGS0 with a great IdealScope image. It isn't H&A or branded like the SuperbCert stone but it is a good way to maximize size & good color with excellence of cut (numbers are very nice!). Scores under 2.0 on the HCA. If it's eye clean, it could be a serious contender!

Many vendors have their entire inventory online or most of it (WhiteFlash has a huge online inventory)..so not sure why no stones are coming up when you search?

thank you Mara,...thanx a bunch..

He doesn't even know what he wants...He has no idea about diamonds...I explained to him and suggested to look at this website and GOG website...but he said that it was too much inform. and he was confused..so, I am going to decide everything for him...since he trust me that much..but I don't want to do the same mistakes I made in past...at least i am on right track finding this set...

I want as big as it can but doesn't go down below SI1 but it has to be eye clean.. so what do you think? can he get decent diamond around 2ct for his budget? I look at GOG web and I found none..

I posted 7 stones, did you look at them? They are all within his budget and over 2c.

Some may or may not be eye-clean. You will have to do the research to find out. I would definitely try to get an SI stone with a G or H color. Some SI2's can be great deals as well, but you have to find out more information from the vendor. Get to calling or emailing!

But as I showed already, this budget is more than fine for a 2c+ eye clean, well cut stone. Good luck.
