Mara, since you'll be getting an ACA and I just got my 5 stone band today.  And BOY!  was it sparkly!!!

Do you think the ACA will be more sparkle, fire, brilliance.  I'm curious to know for when I get to search for a stone for myself.

Well, as an ACA owner myself.....I'd say that I've never seen a ring sparkle like mine does.

Of course, I'm sure others could perform equally.....but my stone has KILLER numbers and my appraiser said it had TOP TOP light return.  Hard to imagine how another stone could top that.

In fact, I'd say that I'm spoiled to the point that I'll likely be ordering my melee from WF, too.  Once you've had chateaubriand, hamburgers don't quite taste the same!

I also have an ACA stone. Even my mother and her friends comment on how sparkly it is. And these are all doctor's wives with VERY nice jewels

With all due respect to the ACA brand which as a whole is excellent, the visual performance of a diamond is determined by the precision of the cut, the combination of proportions and the facet alignment - not the brand.

What is an aca diamond? Why is it more sparkly than a "regular" diamond.

Is an aca more sparkly than a h&a or 8star? Why?

Thank u.

Robin/Todd - you are right, of course. Whitediamonds - have you looked through the tutorial on the homepage? That might be very useful for you because it would answer most of your questions.

Um Mara,

White diamonds has a philosophy PhD. Surely she's intellectually advanced enough to figure this out on her own.

Well I don't have the ACA yet So I don't really know. Since I don't have a superideal right now...it will be interesting to compare my stone to the new stone. From pictures though ...I think it will be an eye popper.

Though I do have to say that in my opinion, ACA melee is such low cost for the quality that it makes it worth it to use them every time. For example, everything I have priced out via WF using their melee has pretty much been the same price or less than if I got regular random melee from somewhere else. Is the difference quantifiable? I don't know yet...I'll tell you when I place my new ACA melee eternity wedding band next to my existing random regular melee engagement ring on the day of the wedding. I have a feeling the new ring will be more sparkly, rendering my old one in desperate need of modifications!

That said, when I create my 10 stone ring, it's going to be with ACA melee. Why? Because the price at the store is probably MORE using their pre-set stones than it will be to have ACA use their stones. Good enough reason for me!

Diamonds sparkle, return fire and brilliance because of the cut. Not the color or the clarity, but the cut. If the stone is cut well, it doesn't matter what it's called or branded or labeled. It's going to sparkle like the dickens.

I own a A Cut Above diamond and it is a beautiful diamond. All ACA diamonds are cut to specific standards so they all should perform very well.
