I'm so excited that I couldn't wait to post until I had the stone....we finally committed to an absolutely fabulous ACA stone for Greg's wedding ring at WhiteFlash.

I was hoping to get something that was a G VS, but this stone has such amazing numbers and the images are so top notch, that I bumped up the budget and figured I'd suck it up. I mean this is the guy who puts up with me day in and day out, and *still* wants to marry me. Why shouldn't he have an amazing diamond to brag about too?

So here are the specs and pictures of course!! When I do get the stone in later, I will definitely post updated pictures with my digital camera. Doubt any of them will be as great as these. Oh and Greg knows that I have found his stone but he doesn't know that it's going to be coming home to US first before I send it over to the tension company....I am thinking that since for Valentine's Day we really aren't going to give each other gifts (brand new house is big gift!), I will surprise him with the loose stone and the H&A viewer and we'll have some fun playing with the bauble before we have to send it away again.

WhiteFlash A Cut Above H&A Diamond

0.38 F VS2 AGS0 H&A
Depth: 60
Table: 57
Crown Angle: 34.8
Pav Angle: 40.7
Girdle: 0.8%-1.7%
Polish & Symm: Ideal
Culet: Pointed
Fluor: Negligible
Measurements: 4.75-4.76x2.85

Also included is the screenshot of the stone with it's H&A images & picture of the actual stone on the WhiteFlash website (before they removed it), the AGS cert copy, the IdealScope image, and the Sarin.

Woo hoo! I am SO excited. I am going to have to remember that this is GREGS stone and not mine. He is already making noises that his stone is going to be better than mine. I personally think it just makes my wish to upgrade that more plausible when he feels guilty that his stone is so darn close to that illusion of diamond perfection.

Thanks to Brian and Lesley at WhiteFlash for putting up with my incessant emails and for being so incredibly accomodating with all my requests. I had the opportunity to talk to Brian the other day on the phone which was amazing, he is just a fountain of knowledge. I was content to sit there and listen to him talk for about 45 minutes....he answered all my questions (and more).

Garry & Leonid also gave this stone a thumbs up from the information I sent over, yay! Oh and of course thanks to Alj....without whom I would probably be walking the nearest cliff and tossing myself off. Sure it's a small diamond, but it's still $$ and you want to be sure you made the right decision.  Plus it's our first superideal. Awww.

EDITED TO ADD! I almost forgot! Sacrilege. The HCA Score is amazing on this thing. 1.0 EX EX EX EX...yes the elusive 4 EX's. That was such a deal clincher.

Leota...don't worry darling, that happens to me too. Yes...it's not MY stone..it's Greg's. *winkwink*

BTW I added up above into my original post that the HCA score is 1.0 EX EX EX EX ....the elusive 4 EX's.

Now I am in trouble ! I kept mentioning "Mara's stone" as an example of non-H&A wit great light return, just imagine the confusion if I attempted that once again Yeah, yeah, I know this is not for you, but that's a mouthfull to explain.

Picture perfect! Are you sure they have not cut that piece especially for you, Mara? Ican't wait to see what your impresion will be of this stone near yours. Is this going into a tension setting?

haha.. That just just makes it worst.  It's a fellow pricescoper's husband's diamond I'm fantasizing about!

Well, congradualtions on your new ACA of a 1.0 HCA score.  That is really, really good!

Can't wait to see the final product of the ring.  And maybe I can get some new ideas from you... which I've seem to have gotten quite a few since joining this fun place.

It's going into a 6mm tension titanium setting with a thin ring of yellow gold in the middle. I wanted a slightly larger stone, because with the 6mm setting I didn't want the diamond to be dwarfed inside the setting, and it is for a man's hand. Not to mention my Jersey boy is a gaudy little thing...hee hee. He will use this as a conversation piece galore, I can almost hear the stories now.

WOW, sounds really great. Don't know if this makes you feal better about that width issue, but like this the sides of the diamond's girdle are not going to be the first to bump onto whatever the ring is placed on (when taken off), so that 0.7mm may be a good thing. I will probaly keep even more of a gap for the same reason if I finaly get that Ti tension setting with red spinel I am dreaming (and calling sellers around) about

Yes I thought of that as well Valeria, extra protection! We can possibly even go to 6.5mm but I think the ones we tried on in the store were 6mm and looked very nice while on.

Mara:

Exexexexcellent.

For a next project, how about planning a single diamond stud earring for him? That would look on him...

Let me guess, if you guys have kids and she's a she...I bet she'll have a lovely little, say, anklet, before she leaves the hospital...?!?!

HA.....no problem.  (Not remotely admitting the fact that I was standing BEHIND her on the way to the cliff waiting to PUSH! )

Just kidding........enjoy it, sweetie, and keep leveraging until you get your own!  It was truly my pleasure to help - felt good to pay back the great support I got when we bought.

As happy as you are about it now......WAIT UNTIL YOU GET IT HOME!  Holy cow......dim all the lights in the room first *before* opening the box.  I've had more people stop me in the hall to gaze at (and drool on!) my ring, and it's a thrill every time.  That is.....when I can get my OWN two eyeballs far enough away to give anyone else a chance to look.

One month later, and I'm still in luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv!  Have to say, the ACA's are breathtaking.

Can't wait to see the "pride" pics....!

Hey, Mara, how did you decide between the old-style ACA cut and the new, tweaked-girdle cut?

Amazing looking little thing you got there.

It looks tweaked to me from the ideal-scope.
Also you can see the girdle thickens at the points where the minor facets meet in the girdle profile image.

So its tweaked - the 8* trick

PQ mentioned to me that all the smaller ACA were classic cut stones....so I don't know? The girdle does look amazingly free of leakage...hmmm

Mara-
That is gorgeous. I was curious too, about the new line stones being available in the smaller cuts . I also thought that all of the smaller stones were cut like the "classic cut" and you didn't get that edge to edge light return stone until about .70 or so. But yours is a delight to see! I wish I could talk my fiance into wearing a diamond, cuz he's got nice hands...but he is the plain band type of guy.
