I have been reading this board for several weeks as I have been trying to learn more about diamonds prior to my purchase. I came across a 3 stone Ring with 3 Princess Cut diamonds in a platinum setting for $5900. 1.06 Carat 5.68 X 5.54 X 4.03 Depth 72.7 Table 74 Good Finish Color G Clarity VVS2 Flouresence None Very Good Cut Girdle - Thin to Thick Cullet none Finish Good The other two diamonds are .74 carats g color and vs clarity. I have no further information on their specs. It is GIA certified Is this a fair price? It is from an internet seller. Thanks ![]() Irie |

As a general guideline, the table should be smaller than the depth. This diamond has a rather large table... I'd prefer a stone with 55-72% table for a great look. Of course numbers aren't everything with fancies, but with these simple rules you can avoid some bad performes. Also, a >9% crown height is recommended for a better performance. ![]() I did a little research and found some VERY well cut stones, so that you can get an idea: 1.12 I/VVS 2 This one is deep, but from the pic looks gorgeous 1.09 J/VS 1 Or from the expert selection at www.whiteflash.com: 1.02 G/VS 1 1.04 G/VS 1 1.20 F/SI 1 _____________ |

Thank you for the response. Another new learning for me. I noticed there is a flurry of activity on this board today. It must be that time of year to purchase a diamond. I now fully understand the comparison of diamonds and ice.
