Finally got the pad set properly in sally's lotus setting :)
To recap: 5mm padparadscha sapphire, Ceylon, unheated from NSC
Setting: 18k lotus from Sally at Heart of Waters.

Lots of pics to follow! After I got it set, I went shopping, and man does it sparkle in multi-point retail lighting!! The scintillating fire is AMAZING. Too bad I don't have that at home

These are in daylight (except the bottom right, that is my kitchen lightbulb, you can see how it affects the color)

Disclaimer: the color in these photos shows more purple than I actually see, which is weird, but oh well. Just FYI.

I like the cut, it's a very cool variation on the portugese, it reminds me of flower petals :) And it results in a lot of scintillation!

MTG- the color is beautiful, and I love the CUT! that setting is perfect for the stone as well. like you said about the cut being sort of flowery, the setting sure brings it to life!

It looks to be a very lively stone with such a nice pink color.  Really lovely.  Congratulations on your project coming to a successful and happy ending.

Facing the light, I was trying to catch some of the dispersion, if you look carefully you can see the blues and green sparks :)

This pic is more about the setting than the stone, both are lovely though! This us under a florescent bulb, it deepens the color quite a bit.

Very beautiful.  Thank you for posting so many photos from the "top down."  I really like that as well as the side view.

How high up is the stone?  Does it seem like you're going to hit it on alot of things?

In the last hand shot you can kind of see how high it is. I don't think it's in any more danger than a normal prong setting :)

My photos can't really do the stone justice, you really have to see it in motion to appreciate how much the cut shoots out sparks at you :)

A BIG thanks to everyone who has helped me complete this project!! Especially Linda for all her great guidance on pads and for introducing me to the setting!

Just visiting your ring again! While staring in adoration I realized I can see the reflection of the camera and your hand in the tips of the prongs, especially in the 3rd picture haha!

The first thing I thought of when I saw the picture was, "what a pretty pink flower".  It's a very vibrant pastel pink in a cute setting.
