Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this but if it is, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Here's the thing: I just recently got over my period on the 7th. I got it the 4th, which makes it a very short cycle for me. It usually lasts about 6 days and I usually bleed pretty heavily. I only had it 3 days and it wasn't nearly as heavy a flow as I am used to. For the last couple days I've felt very nauseous and I seem to be getting dizzy or lightheaded. Could this mean I'm pregnant? I've heard of having what seems like a light period right around the time you're supposed to have your period and usually they use the term implantation bleeding. I did have unprotected sex the middle of April... I had thought about the possibility of being pregnant but when I got my "period" I thought, okay, I must not be. Has anyone ever experienced this and ended up being pregnant? Thanks for any input! *********************************************************************************************************************** 10.09.09 <3 |

Has anyone ever experienced this and ended up being pregnant? Yes. I bled for 3ish days, one of which warranted the use of a light tampon. Then it stopped. And didn't return. And didn't return. And didn't return. BUT... The only way to know is to TEST. And if you've already had a "period" (or possibly implantation bleeding) you should be able to take a HPT and get a very, very accurate reading. Asking whether or not you could be pregnant is sort of a loaded question... There is a lot that goes into when a pregnancy can occur. Presuming you generally have regular, 28 day cycles, and the 4th is when you were expecting your period to start, you probably ovulated around the 20th of April. The "best" time for fertilization to occur would be if you had sex right before, during, or immediately after ovulation. (right before/day of are really the best, best chances). Of course, you could have longer or shorter or irregular cycles... In which the "count 14 days back from the first day of your period" ovulation-predicting-method goes out the window. Perhaps you have an idea of when you ovulated? Most women can tell by the consistency of their cervical mucus. Thin, stretchy, clear-ish, "egg white" mucus indicates optimum fertility. If you recall what your CM was like around the time you had sex, that may give you a clue as to whether or not you were more fertile. ..Also, you said you had unprotected sex. This could mean that your partner did not "pull out" or that he did. That plays a DEFINITE roll in the chances of you being pregnant. If you're nervous about the possibility, just grab a test. It can be nerve wracking, but it's just as nerve wracking to not know... And the earlier you can confirm a possible pregnancy, the better off you'll be, regardless of what path you decide to take from that point. Good luck!

It's possible. Is it likely? Not really, especially with three days of bleeding. Some women (like Pils) experience it, but it isn't the norm. As Pils said, the only way to know is to take a test.

I had implantation bleeding for 4 days when preggo with my daughter. Like the others said, take a test.

Thanks for your responses ladies! I took a test last night and it's negative. So I guess I'm not! I'm sure it's pretty accurate at this point. Thanks again!! *********************************************************************************************************************** |
