What movie''s proposal scene do you love?

For me it''s Walk the Line. Most romantic proposal/acceptance ever.

But then, I adore that move.

I love the first proposal in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. I'm a big Jane Austen fan!

LOL Gypsy! I just realized this was posted in Rocky Talky. Was this intentional or did you mean to post in Hangout?

I like the one from Pretty Woman, and the one from Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart.

Completely unintentional. I asked the moderators to move it. Thanks Heb!

Haha, that is my answer too. What girl wouldn''t love THAT?! Also it is sentimental for me, as it is the first movie I ever watched with my hubby. Knew he would stick around after I pulled that movie out at the end of our first date

I know it''s not a movie, but I think Monica''s proposal to Chandler is friends is one of my faves.

Is it bad that I don''t like the Sweet Home Alabama proposal? I loved the scene because it was fabulous, but it wouldn''t be a dream proposal to me.

I didn''t like it either. Yes, it would be AWESOME to be in a jewelry store and have the go-ahead to "pick anything"... but it just wasn''t that great of a proposal to me. I want him to have a part in picking the ring, and to do something more than just walk me to a jewelry store.

I''d have taken an in pajamas, on the couch, with a ring picked by him propsal any day!

I love the one Colin Firth's character does in Love Actually, where he has spent all that time learning Portuguese and then the whole town ends up following along, and it turns out that she had learned English for him...interspersed with the scenes of the little kid dodging airport security to say goodbye to the little girl...gets me EVERY TIME.

Oh, I also like the one in Ever After.

Yes! I love that one too!

I also loved the proposal in Stepmom with Julia Roberts, when he slides the ring on her finger with the string. The speech was really sweet!

Baaaaah, there was another movie proposal I was thinking about the other day and now I can''t remember! Will pop on later if I can think of it.

I also liked the proposal in Stepmom, when Ed Harris wake a sleepy Julia Roberts and proposes in bed. Very sweet. That movie makes me cry every-single-time!

It's not exactly a proposal, but I just love Robbie's serenade to Julia in The Wedding Singer.

I love both the proposals in this one - the one in the rain, and the one at the end (not "technically" a proposal, but basically is) just warms my heart every time and makes me smile!!

The "Love, Actually" proposal wins in my book. There''s just something so wonderful about him deciding to learn her language and her learning his "just in cases."

I like the Stepmom one but I think my absolute favorite NOW is from He''s Just Not That Into You... (I don''t want to ruin it for anyone) so I''ll just say it''s the one at the end.

BF and I went to see it in theaters and I said "That''s the sweetest thing ever!!" it was meant for a hint hint

... hopefully he''ll pick up on it lol

Except that the night ended with me in tears and he''s tried to block it from memory lol

Serendipity

Sara (Kate Beckinsale) comes home. She opens the door to find the room covered in lit candles and there's a huge box in the middle of the floor saying open me.

So she opens it and finds another box inside and so on and so forth until which time she finds the ring box and there's nothing in it so she starts searching for it and then Lars (John Corbett) comes out of the next room with the ring (honking diamond) and gets down on one knee and proposes to her.

Its soooooooo romantic and my dream proposal.

*sigh*

And yes..........I loved that scene in he's just not that into you.

And the Monica proposing to Chandler is another of my favourites cos she proposed to him.

I love this movie, it''s my favorite of all time, and this was so cute. Except the ring didn''t fit!

Maybe not the most "romantic" by definition, but I really liked the elevator proposal on Greys Anatomy. It perfectly suited them, and was very sweet.

Thanks, Po! That was the proposal I was thinking about the other day but could not remember. It was really bugging me.

I love that proposal, all the rose petals on the floor...perfect! Well, except it was the wrong guy, lol.

I love the proposal from "When Harry Met Sally". Although, I don''t think it was a real proposal, more of a declaration of feeling. The last line is my ultimate favorite.

"I love that you get cold when it''s 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you''re looking at me like I''m nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night."

"I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

I also love the one from Love Actually!

And, it''s not a proposal scene, but when Will Ferrell''s character in Stranger Than Fiction brings Maggie Gyllenhaal''s character "flowers" (flours) I get totally misty-eyed. Half because it''s punny, and half because it involves baking.
