Finish the below sentence... "When I was 13..."
When I was 13, we didn't have cordless phones and I went and bought a long phone jack line so I could drag the phone through the house into my room to talk to people. We had to make emergency breakthroughs if we wanted to talk to someone if the line was busy because we did not have call waiting.

Hmmm... I guess I'll follow your phone example! When I was 13, my family had one cellphone that we all shared (for emergencies only), I seem to remember it being a motorola startac?

When I was 13 there were no atm machines. If you needed cash, you had to go to your bank.

When I was 13, none of my family had a mobile phone and I used to get 20p for pocket money a week.

When I was 13, my family didn't have a microwave. I think my parents were the last people on Earth to get one.

When I was 13, my family got our first computer. Pentium (one) processor and 1.2GB hard drive, baby. I was kinda jealous of my friend because a couple months later, her family got the 1.4GB model and it was SO MUCH cooler than ours.

When I was 13, I would listen to music either on my step fathers 8 track tape player or on my record player. Somewhere around that age, I got a record player that would record onto a casette tape. Kids at school were trading mix tapes. That dates me, I know others on here knew the power of a good mix tape in Jr. High! When I was 13, cell phones were not around and the internet did not exist. Nobody had computers in their homes. My mother worked as a secretary and had and IBM selectric in our home so she could get overtime work from her boss. When I was 13, NEON was big. Neon shirts, neon socks, neon anything. When I was 13 and I wanted to talk on the phone, I had to stay in the kitchen or my mom's bedroom and was attached to the phone by the spiral twisty cord. When I was 13, my dad still had a rotary phone. And as if that was not enough he did not own it, he rented it from the phone company!!!! My mom was more progressive and had one push button and one rotary. And the phones were hardwired into the wall!

When I was 13 . . . . . . . we got cable TV for the first time--a whopping 11 channels! I didn't know what to do with all the choices! . . . we were using our first computer--a Commodore 64 . . . cell phones didn't exist. My dad had a radio phone for emergency medical call. . . . I finally got my own bedroom!!!! Any of my opinions are worth exactly what you paid for them. "The U. S. Constitution doesn't guarantee happiness, only the pursuit of it. OMG here goes... When I was 13, the one phone in the house was the black rotary dial WALL MOUNTED phone in the kitchen. Very short cord so we had to stay in the room to talk to anyone..... When I was 13, when I went to the corner store for Maxi Pads, the store lady brought them down from the tallest shelf. They were wrapped in plain brown paper. LS

When I was 13, we didn't have cable TV (lines still dont reach there) and the only satellite dish available was the huge that went in the yard. The computer we had only did DOS and there was no internet. Well, I guess there was internet, it just wasn't widely available or known. We did have call waiting for our home phone, but no cell phones at all.
